Round two of the Curious Gin Trail: five more Adelaide bars (and 10 recipes)
Take a look at another five bars on the Hendrick’s Curious Gin Trail (and get the specs).

It’s Fringe time in Adelaide. Adelaide Fringe is the biggest arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere, with plenty of comedy, cabaret, arts, music and more taking place in the city’s East End — including at some of the bars on this half of the Curious Gin Trail.
As we noted the other week, the Hendrick’s Curious Gin Trail is back for its second year. The trail includes 10 top Adelaide bars, and is presented as a map on a fan — see below — designed and illustrated by the ever talented Hendrick’s ambassador, James MacRae.

We visited the trail with James — some of you may know him as Wee James — as he spoke to the bartenders and bar owners on the map, talking about what makes their bars special, cocktails, and their tips for top bars in Adelaide.
So, join James on the Curious Gin Trail and take a look at five of the bars on the list, here.
Malt & Juniper
In the timber-clad room that is Adelaide’s Malt & Juniper, their twin spirit focus is evident on their tall back bar: here, they love their whisky, and they love that juniper stuff, gin.

Hains & Co.
Hains & Co. is the little Adelaide bar that — as is their tagline — has been lifting spirits for 10 years now.

Roxie's
Roxie’s is the cocktail garden Adelaide had to have, a temporary popup that just kept on keeping on. But they won’t have it much longer; Roxie’s is set to close for good this May.

Electra
Adelaide bar Electra is a three level venue housed in an historic building, with a little something for everyone. If you like your outdoor drinking areas, they’ve got it here — they’ve also got some impressive, stately, high-ceilinged rooms in which to do your thing.

Howling Owl
Would you like a side of stand up served with your G&T? You’ll find Howling Owl just off Rundle Street in Adelaide’s East End, and at this temple to the juniper arts, you’ll also find plenty of artists — stand up comedians and more — playing to an appreciative crowd.
