The Bee-Side from Smoke at Barangaroo House
Aberfeldy is the star of this Red Hook riff at Smoke in Sydney.
At the picturesque Sydney cocktail bar, Smoke at Barangaroo House, their twist on the modern classic cocktail, the Red Hook, sees Aberfeldy 12 single malt whisky paired with a PX sherry and sweet vermouth combo. A lick of salted honey gives the drink a hit of umami and a fuller body, says its creator Pauric Kennedy.

Bee-Side
Ingredients
- 40ml Aberfeldy 12
- 20ml PX sherry sweet vermouth
- 7.5ml Luxardo Maraschino
- 5ml salted Urban Beehive Sydney honey syrup
- 3 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
- a lemon peel coin to garnish
Instructions
- Stir all ingredients with ice in a mixing glass.
- Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass.
- Garnish with a lemon peel coin.
